A dealer-led market #
Most Italian volume moves through small, family-run dealers with a showroom and a workshop. They buy in twos and threes rather than by the container, which is exactly the order size a multi-source supplier can serve and a single factory cannot.
Documents an Italian registration file needs #
- Certificate of conformity
- Issued per vehicle by the type-approval holder, in the language your registration office accepts.
- Commercial invoice
- Exporter and importer named, VIN listed, Incoterm stated.
- Customs declaration
- Import entry with the vehicle category code used by your authority.
- VIN confirmation
- The plate and the stamped VIN must match the certificate — we photograph both before shipment.
- EU responsible person details
- Name, postal address and email inside the EU, for market surveillance and for the registration file.
Italian buyers read the certificate before the price A dealer who has been selling quadricycles for twenty years will spot an inconsistent category or a missing seat count in under a minute. Sending the certificate unprompted is the fastest credibility move in this market.
Where Italian files usually stall #
- Homologation paperwork in a language the office will not accept without a translation.
- Tyres that differ from the sizes listed on the certificate — a common substitution when a dealer fits local stock.
- A vehicle delivered with a seat count different from the approved type.
